Amazing Malaysian – New Dates for 2017

Following his hugely successful class in October 2016, we are thrilled to welcome back renowned chef, teacher, author and Kuala Lumpur’s food ambassador to Cooks. There is no denying Norman’s talents know no bounds, and he is bringing that talent back to Cooks in 2017.

The course promises to be a fun-packed, creative class preparing, cooking and eating a range of Malaysian dishes, including a wealth of tips, techniques, and flavours proving why this is one of the world’s favourite cuisines.

Norman was born in Penang and is a passionate ambassador for Malaysian food as well as co-founder of Ning restaurant in Manchester, UK. He has featured on Tom Kerridge’s Best Ever Dishes on BBC2, Sunday Brunch on Channel 4, MasterChef Malaysia, Islam Channel, BBC World & other TV and radio channels. Norman regularly features at top food festivals around the UK, Europe, and Malaysia. Oh, and he is also an all-around nice guy!

 about the course

This full-day class is open to all and promises a busy and intense day working through Malaysian cooking techniques, ingredients and skills. The class is a mixture of demonstration and hands-on. We do all the washing up, and all you have to do is come and have fun and learn new skills.

There will be no more than twelve** in the class, and every student will have a workstation space.

You will enjoy this course if you want a better understanding of Malaysian food in the hands of a great chef including techniques, hints and tips along the way from Norman.

by the end of the course

You will leave Cooks with the understanding of what makes Malaysian cooking so exciting, the ingredients and techniques to create the dishes at home. All dishes are made from scratch and include a range of essential skills.

Guests should aim to arrive for refreshments at 9.30am; the class will begin at 10.00 am and ends around 4 pm.
