Make an entrance into the Venetian Room through magnificent double-paneled oak doors designed by J.F. Bentley and exquisitely carved by J.E. Knox.

One of the finest rooms of the house, complete with all the original colourings, textiles and features of heraldry, the Venetian Room features dado panels beautifully painted with figures from The Merchant of Venice and moulded plasterwork with a pomegranate motif.

With its double height windows and crystal chandeliers, this spectacular space has played host to all manner of opulent parties and balls down the centuries. Its impressive well-preserved Gothic Revival interior follows through into the other State Rooms.

The Venetian Room offers a stunning backdrop for reception parties of up to 150 guests or 100 dinner guests.
