If you love food, you’ll love Cooks.
Cooks is our celebration of the culinary arts. Whether you are a novice cook looking to start your journey, or an accomplished chef ready to learn something new, our School of Food has something for you. But Cooks is so much more than a cookery school. It is a place for foodies to mingle, exchange ideas and share their passions. A place for workmates to bond over a bubbling pan or friends to chill out over a glass of something cold.
Once you’ve visited the wonderful Cooks kitchens – at once historic and hi-tech – you’ll want to linger, roll up your sleeves and get stuck in. Whether yours is a love seafood or spices, chocolate or wine, fresh baked bread or exquisitely iced cake – or all of the above – come and indulge it at Cooks. Learn to grow, cook, photograph or write about food. Meet expert butchers, bakers and chocolatiers as well as chefs.
Here’s a new and altogether tastier team building experience.
Housed in the transformed servant quarters and kitchen, Cooks School of Food is all about the culinary arts. Expert foodies, from bakers to butchers, chefs to chocolatiers, share their knowledge at masterclasses all through the year.
Cooks is also the perfect place for team building exercises, or a fun activity to share with family and friends. Watch as your friends bond as they bake, boil and baste.
We can create the perfect course which is at once challenging and highly enjoyable. Work as teams or individuals under the tutelage of one of our expert and entertaining chefs.
And best of all, you can either take away your culinary creation – or enjoy it together in the intimate setting of the Duchess’s Dining Room.
Can you imagine a better way for bringing people together than enjoying a nice drink, all the while savouring a delicious meal in an informal and relaxed atmosphere?
Our Cellar Dinner may be just what you are looking for. You are invited to choose a menu from a variety of themes and to join us, drink in hand, in our spacious main kitchen for an appetising demonstration of how to prepare the dishes. An evening of epicurean feast follows, to please all the senses, with plenty of wine, beer or cider flowing and a little presentation on the dishes and drinks served. You can enjoy a buffet-style meal or a more formal dinner in the stunning surroundings of the Duchess’s Dining Room, with coffee and desserts served in the warm and inviting Housekeeper’s Sitting Room. At Cooks, we can accommodate parties from eight up to twenty people. If your party is more than twenty people, you can enjoy your evening upstairs, in the splendid main State Rooms at the heart of Carlton Towers. A bit of a do.
